KéVon Jamar is a Birmingham-born musician, producer, composer, and arranger. As a collaborator, he aims to touch lives and develop a platform for voices that are often marginalized by creatively discussing political, social, and economic issues through the use of a diverse group of music genres such as jazz, classical, r&b, pop, and reggaeton.
How is your theme reflected in your song or production?
It is about believing in yourself as an artist. It is a cliché, but it is often overlooked, especially in a conservatory setting. So I wanted to remind myself (and my peers) that you've got it, keep going. Your voice and your sound matter and can bring something powerful to the table that is distinctive.
How did this project impact you?
It reminded me to keep going, that my voice matters, and that I can bring something to the table that is powerful, distinctive, and incomparable. :)
